Environment Education for Kids : Environmental Ecosystems Education for Kids

Poziom:

Temat: Środowisko

All living things are connected to each other in many different ways. We call this the web
of life or an ecosystem. Hi, I'm Debbie Noah and I'm here to help you, teach your child
about ecosystems. First of all, young children are, it, may seem like a daunting task to
teach something like an ecosystem to a young child, but you'd be amazed on how they do
grasp all the concepts. First of all, you need to tell 'em, talk about what an ecosystem
is. It's an environment with plants, animals, and other organisms that all depend on each
other in some way. Every one is either eating. The animal eats the plant, then the animal
poops, and then other animals decompose it, and then things grow from that, good, "it's"
clean earth, and then the cycle starts again. So, it's really pretty easy to teach 'em about
an ecosystem. Some good "we", good books available, great science books on teaching young children
about the deserts, the oceans, the rain forest, the tundra. Super, super, good ways. In talking
to your kids, what kind of animals live there, what kind of plants can survive there? Could
a human live there? And, how, what would be needed for them to be able to live there?
Also, if you can't go on vacation to the rain forest, or you can't go to the ocean, or you
can't go to the desert, you can just take a little visit to your nearby park. There's
a great ecosystem surviving in the park. You can go to a stream or a pond, you can go to
nearby woods, and young children will have a hay day learning about the animals and plants
that are surviving in that ecosystem. I'm Debbie Noah, and that's how you teach kids
about ecosystems.
