My name’s Andrew Amers-Morrison.

I’m the founder of Samba Street Soccer.

We are a South American based football.

We teach all the trademark moves of all the legendary greats

right through to the modern greats such as Ronaldo, Pele, Maradona

and we teach them step by step to local young English children.

And the methodology behind it is an influx of foreign players in the Premiership

and in the English football league and the lack of English-born players

coming through the ranks is the reason why we foundered this club.

Skills that the Premiership clubs look for, we now teach here in the UK.

French Connection and the V&A had an idea of doing sport versus fashion

and street fashion was the key way I think,

so they’ve put the street football with the street fashion and come up with samba.

We are the only club in London that do street football and take it into a league…

on a stage where we play and use all the tricks that you see us teach

we actually use on the muddy pitches where you’re not allowed to use them.

We break the rules of traditional English football,

as in typical English football is played the way you’re facing.

We don’t teach them to play the way you’re facing.

We give them ammunition to literally take a player on

and we teach them how to make a decision, when’s the right time to do it

and in the right positions and then what are you going to do once you’ve done it.

So we kind of progress them through stage by stage and everything is literally…I mean we start at four

and go right up to the big men you see in the back there.

But we got told when we set up that it would never work

because we were taking street hardcore football onto muddy grass pitches with rules and referees

and we’ve been doing it since 2005 and we’ve won promotion every year in every age group.

And working with…and through that we’ve got work with the V&A;

we’ve got work French Connection

and again this is why we are here again today to show-off what we can do but on a more adult level.

The skills that you’ll see in there are more fluent than the skills you’ll see at the younger level

but the kids still do exactly the same tricks.
