Hi, I am Travis Corpening and I am about to
teach you one of my most favorite moves. It
is called, I call it an alternate jab step.
What you want to do is you want to face the
basket with the ball in a triple-threat position,
which looks a little something like this.
And once you have the ball in a triple-threat
position, when there is a defensive man or
person on you, what you want to do is, you
want to use your right foot to step and give
yourself space, give yourself space. After
you give yourself space and you have the ball,
you want to act like you are going, you are
preparing to go to the right, when actually
what you are doing is you are setting your
defensive man up, so that you step one, step
two, and by that third step he thinks you
are going to go, you throw the ball around
to the opposite side, having the defensive
man thinking you are going this way, when
actually you are going that way, and as you
throw it around you know what you are about,
you know where the ball is about to be. You
anticipate where the ball is going, so the
defensive man will literally go to his left.
As they go to their left, you recover, have
the ball to your, your left, and continue
by finishing or if it has given you enough
space to where you can complete your jump
shot, go ahead and do that. There you have
it, alternate jab step.
